IT Team Lead Data, Analytics & AI Foundation (m/f/d)

The Teamlead position Data, AI & Automation Platforms is responsible for shaping and driving the company's data, analytics, AI, and automation strategy. The role ensures the delivery of scalable, secure, and cost-effective platform solutions that support digital transformation and create measurable business value. Working closely with business stakeholders, the position leads innovation, governance, and platform development while managing a team of engineers and fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.

The role ensures the delivery of scalable, secure, and cost-effective platform solutions that support digital transformation and create measurable business value. Working closely with business stakeholders, the position leads innovation, governance, and platform development while managing a team of engineers and fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

▪ Define and execute the strategy for Data Warehousing, Reporting, AI and Automation platforms, aligned with our business goals and digital transformation journey.

▪ Ensure broad understanding and clear focus in the innovative fields of Data Warehousing, AI and Automation

▪ Own budget responsibility for Data Warehousing, Reporting, AI and Automation activities, ensuring cost efficiency through portfolio optimization, vendor management, and scalable platform operations.

▪ Continuously assess new technologies, vendors, and practices to enhance our AI and Automation capabilities.

▪ Delivering measurable business value, with strong focus on cost-efficiency

▪ Oversee the development and maintenance of Data Warehousing, Reporting, AI and Automation platforms, driving standardization, quality, and reusability across the portfolio.

▪ Drive platform scalability, ensuring integration with existing systems, APIs, and enterprise architecture.

▪ Provisioning of the central platforms for almost all AI and Automation use cases in neuwerk.

▪ Establish and enforce governance frameworks to ensure security, compliance (e.g., GDPR), and consistency of development practices.

▪ Work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI and Automation and digital solutions that improve efficiency and agility.

▪ Establish and lead the leader of an AI Governance Comittee, ensuring clear policies and rules in the fields of AI & Automation

▪ Lead and mentor an academic engineering team of 6 FTE working on evolving the platform landscape for data, analytics, AI and automation, fostering growth, collaboration, and delivery excellence within an agile framework.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, Scrum) are a plus.
• 10+ years in IT or software platforms, including 5+ years in a leadership role with portfolio, budget, or governance ownership.
• Strong analytic background and knowledge about AI concepts and tools. Extensive experience in business process automation.
• Proven leadership and people management experience in software or platform engineering with ability to mentor and develop academic team members.
• Extensive experience in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English, another language helpful
• Exposure to international work content in previous roles
